New adult classes: Barre/Pilates Fusion and Mat Pilates

This contemporary mat Pilates class is based on the extensive study in human movement related specifically to the works of J.H. Pilates (BASI mat Pilates). The science based approach to Pilates moves the body through space with efficiency while conditioning, lengthening and strengthening large and small muscle groups. Each mat class will be a full body class taught with the ten principals of Joseph Pilates’ teachings; awareness, balance, control, efficiency, precision, breath, concentration, center, flow and harmony.
Barre/ Pilates Fusion
Barre/Pilates Fusion is a class that takes the principals of movement and applies them to a full body workout using the foundations of barre fitness work and Pilates mat work. The class begins with a center floor warm-up, transitions to arms using 3 lb dumbbells and then to classic, at the barre, barre fitness. The class also includes cardio interval work and additional Pilates mat work to continually challenge your core and keep your muscles strengthened and lengthened throughout the class. It’s a full body workout backed by the science of movement. It’s a bring your towel and water bottle workout.
Marta Bensen has been in the fitness industry for over twelve years and has been teaching Pilates for over ten years. She is trained through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) which is a contemporary, comprehensive and extensive study in human movement relating specifically to the works of J. H. Pilates. She is also trained bbarreless created by Tracey Mallet (also the creator of Booty Barre). Marta is the owner of MLB Pilates, a home based Pilates studio. She teaches reformer/tower and chair and small prop Pilates private and duet sessions.
